President's Message

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT JOHN T. NICCOLLAI TO SAKER SHOPRITE PART-TIME EMPLOYEES FRIDAY, MARCH 8, 2024

It has come to your Union’s attention that persons representing the management of Saker ShopRite are informing Part-Time Members that the Union is seeking to limit the work week to a maximum of thirty-four (34) hours.  That statement is totally false and a lie!

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT JOHN T. NICCOLLAI TUESDAY, DECEMBER 19, 2023

During this holiday season, we want our Sisters and Brothers to know that Local 464A is honored to serve the hardest working, most knowledgeable members who make up our industry. Your contributions are an asset to our communities and our way of life.

We wish you and your family the continued success and happiness you deserve and have truly earned.

May you be blessed!

ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF STOP AND SHOP GUIDELINES

FOR ADDRESSING SHOPLIFTERS

The Union has been informed by Stop and Shop that it is their intention to disseminate an electronic policy restricting store associates from engagements and confrontations with alleged shoplifters.  Obviously, we have no objection to the policy on its face since our duties and responsibilities do not relate to security work or the detection and prevention of theft of merchandise by customers.

MINIMUM WAGE UPDATE

Please don’t forget that the minimum wage in both New York and New Jersey increased as of 1/1/2023.

In New York increases vary in different geographic areas, so it will be necessary for you to check the internet for the appropriate new minimum wage in the area of New York in which you work.

In New Jersey, the new minimum wage throughout the State will increase to $14.13 per hour.

Please be sure to check your pay stubs if you are affected by the minimum wage in either New York or New Jersey.

THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT JOHN T. NICCOLLAI NOVEMBER 22, 2022

As we celebrate another Thanksgiving Holiday Season, we should not lose sight of all the positive things for which we should be thankful.  I know all of us are constantly bombarded from many sources with gloom and doom and negative news.  Let’s, however, take a few moments just to think about the good things happening and why we should be positive and appreciative.
