IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT JOHN T. NICCOLLAI MONDAY, AUGUST 18, 2025
CONTRACT RATIFICATION VOTE RESULTS
President Niccollai reported today that four (4) members of the Contract Negotiations Committee along with the Union Officers and staff members tallied the votes received at the store level from this past Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning. We are most pleased to report the results as follows:
2,115 – “YES” Votes to accept the Company’s final contract offer.
15 – “NO” Votes to reject the Company’s final contract offer and strike.
As the numbers indicate this contract without question strongly satisfies our contract needs in the areas of wages, no co-pay medical, a Defined Benefit Pension Plan, and improvement of working conditions. There is no doubt it will serve as a goal as to what other Local Unions hope to achieve with their negotiations. If there is one important lesson to learn from these negotiations, it’s the fact that our Local Union is capable of monumental achievements when we have the full support of our militant membership. It is obvious that management heard our voices loud and clear that we wouldn’t settle for a contract that did not meet our collective needs.
Now that the negotiations are over, we need to get back to the serious business of servicing our customers and growing the businesses of our Employers. Negotiations, by definition, are adversarial but that now is concluded. We now want to grow the partnership that we have with our Employers for the mutual benefit of the Union employees and the Company owners. Successful companies are obviously more inclined to have successful workers. As your Union it is our desire to continue to bring forth contracts of this magnitude as we work in harmony into the future.
May God bless and protect our loyal and hardworking membership.
